ABOUT
Andrew Cromey is a Toronto-based filmmaker and editor specializing in both documentary and scripted editing. His recent editorial credits include Infiltrate (2025), Gold Bars: Who the F**k Is Uncle Ludwig (2025), Making Manson (2024), Take My Hand to Heaven (2024), Mr. Dressup: The Magic of Make-Believe (2023), MP3 (2022), Qadr (2020), Mother Is Back (2021), Fourth Floor (2021), and Shook (2019).

Andrew’s editing approach is rooted in story and character development. He uses deliberate pacing and purposeful silent beats to allow characters space to unfold, inviting the audience to observe rather than be told. His style often features visceral close-ups and inserts that heighten tension and draw attention to body language and emotional nuance. These are balanced with wider shots that re-establish narrative context and anchor the characters within their environments.

In addition to his film work, Andrew has produced and edited content for Universal Music Canada and has collaborated with clients such as CNN, Bell Media, NBC, 60 Second Docs, Island Records, OMNI Television, and various charities and foundations. His work has taken him across Canada, the U.S., Europe, and East Africa.
Andrew is Full Member with the Director's Guild of Canada, an associate and board member of the Canadian Cinema Editors and the Alliance of Documentary Editors.
He graduated from York University's Film program in 2006, with a focus on film and digital cinematography, as well as non-linear digital editing.
